Capital Boosts and Merger Surge Shake Turkish Markets
724FinanceCaner Yılmaz

Four major listed firms in Turkey have filed SPK applications to radically reshape their capital structures as of late May.
Capital Surge Tempest
Çağdaş Cam Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (BIST: CGCAM) seeks to lift its authorized capital from TL 168 million to TL 2.352 billion. A similarly massive jump is proposed by Armada Gıda Ticaret Sanayi A.Ş. (BIST: ARMGD), increasing its capital from TL 263.98 million to TL 4.25049 billion.
Strategic Merger Plays
Fuzul Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş. (BIST: FZLGY) plans a group‑internal merger based on the 31 Mar 2026 financial statements. Diriteks Diriliş Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (BIST: DIRIT) will raise its capital from TL 10.65 million to TL 50 million while requesting SPK pre‑approval to expand its business scope.
Market Dynamics and Liquidity Impact
Markets view such large‑scale capital raises as part of a firm’s growth playbook. However, free‑issue allocations can depress EPS, creating near‑term price pressure. The liquidity boost and new financing avenues will underpin long‑term value creation for sector leaders like CGCAM and ARMGD. Investors should closely monitor post‑raise FII flows and the impact of the new share issuance on market depth.
