US-Iran Tensions and Oil Prices The renewed clashes have raised concerns about the disruption to oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz following the US's fresh attacks on Iranian targets and Tehran's retaliatory strikes. Brent crude oil approached $79 per barrel, rekindling fears of higher inflation. This could make major central banks cautious about cutting interest rates, putting pressure on speculative assets, including cryptocurrencies.
