The U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) announced that BAE Systems' status as a key defense partner and support for national security interests, including the 'Epic Fury' operation, has led to an upgrade in its export control classification. Under this framework, BAE will be removed from D:3 and D:4 country groups, lifting restrictions on drone programs, while its reclassification to A:5 country group enables license-free exports of military products, commercial satellites, and dual-use items for oil/gas production, desalination, and civilian nuclear energy processes.
