Trainline Shares Plunge as UK Regulator Cracks Down on 'Drip Pricing'
Londra Menkul Kıymetler Borsası'nda Trainline hisseleri, UK Pazar Kurulu'nun 'drip pricing' (gizli ücretler) soruşturmasında yer almasıyla %14 geriled

Trainline shares on the London Stock Exchange tumbled by 14% after being named in the UK Competition and Markets Authority's investigation into alleged 'drip pricing' tactics. The company stated it had engaged with the CMA for months but maintained its policy of not disclosing certain fees upfront. Virgin Atlantic and Red Driving School were also flagged in the same probe. This crackdown is part of the CMA's expanded powers under the 2024 Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, which allows direct enforcement. Earlier this year, driving schools AA and BSM were fined. Now, Trainline faces scrutiny as it awaits the launch of Great British Railways' rival fee-free ticketing app.
While the CMA's move is a step forward for consumer protection, Trainline's share performance raises questions about the company's long-term strategy amid regulatory uncertainty.
