BES Fund Size Exceeds 2.4 Trillion Lira: Strengthening Turkey's Pension System

The total size of the funds in the Individual Pension System (BES) and the Automatic Enrollment System (OKS) has reached 2 trillion 401 billion 481.7 million lira, with a total of 18 million 52 thousand 474 participants. BES has been advancing with confident steps since its inception in Turkey on October 27, 2003.

Growth and Performance of BES

■The number of participants in BES reached 10 million 304 thousand 546.

■The total size of the participants' funds and the state contribution funds was 2 trillion 248 billion 252.7 million lira.

■The number of people who retired from BES reached 487 thousand 118.

Growth and Performance of OKS

■The total size of OKS was 153 billion 229 million lira.

■The number of participants in OKS was 7 million 747 thousand 928.

Under 18 Application

■The fund size of participants under 18 was 100 billion 713.9 million lira.

■80 billion 611.5 million lira of the fund size consisted of funds accumulated by participants, while the state contribution fund size was 20 billion 102.4 million lira.

The growth in BES and OKS contributes to the strengthening of Turkey's pension system and increases the long-term savings rate, which also has a positive impact on the country's economy.
