Crypto Market: Ethereum Outperforms Bitcoin as Investors Take Notice

The crypto market saw a pivotal shift this week. Bitcoin opened at $64,720.36, down 0.4%, while Ethereum opened at $1,917.05, up 1.5%. Ethereum has surged 7% over the past five days compared to Bitcoin's nearly 2% rise. Fundstrat digital asset strategist Sean Farrell noted that Ethereum is becoming 'increasingly compelling' as an investment vehicle. During the 2022 bear market, Ethereum outperformed Bitcoin by several months before Bitcoin reached its bottom. This follows a softer-than-expected CPI report last week, signaling a more optimistic outlook for crypto. Bitcoin's weekly gain is +4%, monthly -2.4%, while Ethereum's is +1% and +6.8%. Ethereum's historical lead in crypto recoveries suggests a similar pattern may be emerging.
Markets are linking this development to growing adoption and technological advancements in Ethereum's ecosystem. Bitcoin's all-time high stands at $126,198.07 in 2025, while Ethereum's is at $4,953.73, indicating strong long-term potential in the crypto space.
