BIST IPO Wave and Record Capital Movements in Banking

As of July 24, massive IPO applications and international debt maneuvers in the banking sector are redefining the liquidity route of the market, while also shaping the algorithmic pressure on the Borsa İstanbul index.

New Peak Session in IPO Capacity

Critical SPK approvals that revitalize domestic capital flows are concentrating particularly in the insurance and energy sectors, testing market depth.

  • Quick Sigorta's 48,312,950 shares were approved by the SPK for public offering at a price of 76.60 TL.

  • Bewen Enerji's public offering application for 80,000,000 shares at a price of 48.10 TL was finalized.

  • The bid collection process for Masfen Enerji (MASFN) and Kardemir Çelik (KARCL) started today to monitor the supply-demand balance.
  • Banking Maneuvers in Global Debt Instruments

Strategic steps by the banking index to manage external funding costs are strengthening the sector outlook, combined with international credit rating confirmations.

  • Akbank (AKBNK) issued a debt instrument worth 100 million USD with a maturity of 494 days abroad, while authority to issue debt instruments up to 160 billion TL was delegated to the General Directorate.

  • İş Bankası (ISCTR) issued a debt instrument worth 500 million USD with a maturity of 4,383 days, while Yapı Kredi (YKBNK) issued debt instruments worth 100 million USD with a maturity of 371 days and 20 million USD with a maturity of 734 days.

  • Credit ratings of ISCTR, Şekerbank (SKBNK), Vakıfbank (VAKBN), and YKBNK were confirmed by Moody's, keeping the risk premium stable.
  • Capital Restructurings and Strategic Expansion

While companies aim to grow their balance sheets through free capital increases and strategic acquisitions, investments that provide operational efficiency are coming to the forefront.

  • Boğaziçi Çimento's (BOBET) subsidiary received MAPEG approval to operate the 246.9-hectare sand mine site in Çatalca, Istanbul; this move is expected to positively affect EBITDA and operational profitability in the medium-long term.

  • Kiler Tekstil's (KLRHO) capital was raised from 700 million TL to 3 billion TL, while high free capital increases were realized for BULGS (646.3%), RALYH (148.05%), and YEOTK (133.8%).

  • Dardanel's (DARDL) subsidiary won the MSB tender with a bid of 536.5 million TL, signing a significant public contract.
  • This market activity may cause the BIST 100 index to test short-term technical resistance levels. In particular, the parking of IPO funds could create temporary liquidity pressure on the main index; however, the heavy issuance of debt instruments in banking stocks supports the sector's leveraged growth strategy and thus intra-index performance. The trend above the upper band of the Ichimoku cloud could gain strength with these capital inflows.
