Turkey's 2026 Vertical Transition Exam (DGS) was conducted across 81 provinces and 103 centers in Lefkosa, spanning 624 buildings and 9,904 exam halls. Candidates who arrived after 10:00 AM began the exam at 10:15 AM and had 135 minutes to complete both numerical and verbal sections, which included 100 questions. The exam, attended by 239,681 candidates, required identity verification, with local authorities open for those without proper identification. Results will be announced on August 13 and will only apply to the 2026-2027 academic year. DGS scores will be calculated using weighted combinations of standardized test scores and academic achievement scores.
The education sector's expected outcomes could influence smart money's short-term positioning. DGS performance may impact student loan markets and education sector stocks, prompting careful monitoring of short-term risk premiums and long-term education credit trends in the market.
