The Ege Mining Exporters Association reported a 767 million dollar export in the first half of 2026, a 12% increase over the same period in 2025. This performance is seen as a boost to the sector's international competitiveness.
Dominance of Natural Stone and Global Markets ### Natural stone products accounted for 60% of exports. The top markets included the US, China, and France. While exports to the US decreased by 5%, exports to China and France increased by 42% and 0.9%, respectively.
Sector Challenges and Promotion Efforts ### Ibrahim Alimoğlu emphasized the need to address the sector's negative public perception. In the first half of 2026, the association participated in the Surface Design Show and the Xiamen International Stone Fair. For the second half of the year, trade missions to Uzbekistan, Morocco, Spain, and Portugal are planned.
The Ege Mining sector is actively pursuing international promotion efforts to enhance its competitive position. This growth represents a significant advancement in Turkey's mineral exports.
