ECO Countries Launch Mobile Photography Festival to Preserve Cultural Heritage
The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member countries are organizing an international mobile photography festival to preserve and strengthen intergenerational cultural bonds. The festival, themed "Passing on Our Heritage to Future Generations," encourages participants to capture meaningful images reflecting traditional knowledge, skills, and cultural practices. ECO member citizens from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan can participate, but photos must be taken with mobile phones and highlight living cultural heritage. Submissions will be accepted from July 12 to September 12, 2026. The festival aims to foster cross-cultural dialogue and strengthen bonds between the peoples of member countries. Detailed information is available on the ECO Cultural Institute's official website.
This cultural initiative leverages digital communication tools to modernize the preservation and transmission of traditional heritage. Markets may begin assessing the long-term implications of such initiatives on the digitization of cultural values.
