The Ministry of Trade is launching a new appointment system in September to increase bureaucratic efficiency and accelerate access to public services in the special vehicle import processes for disabled citizens.
Digitalization-Focused Service Reform
According to a statement from the Ministry, a critical step has been taken to modernize the application processes for vehicle imports, which are exempt from customs taxes for disabled citizens. This application, which will be implemented through the Disabled Vehicle Import System (EAİS) integration on e-Devlet, is considered not only a digital transformation but also a strategic step to strengthen the planning capacity in public administration.Efficiency Step in Process Management
With the new appointment system, evaluations conducted in disabled commissions will be carried out based on appointments created via e-Devlet. This structure aims to minimize the waiting times for citizens and ensure that commission work proceeds in a more disciplined flow. The key operational features of the system are as follows:While the general focus of the markets is on macroeconomic data, this micro-level optimization by the Ministry of Trade in import processes confirms the momentum of the country's regulation structure towards digitalization. Increasing transparency and speed in this special import item, which has customs tax exemptions, can enhance predictability in related budget items. However, this regulation does not have a direct macro impact that would shake the general volume of automotive imports or the current balance; it should rather be coded as a positive service improvement aimed at reducing bureaucratic costs.
