Mariner Logistics has appointed Justin Turner as its new CEO, marking a significant leadership transition in the 4PL sector. Turner, who previously scaled Flock Freight to $500 million in revenue, brings a decade of experience in brokerages and freight technology. The Coppell, Texas-based operation now operates under a unified structure, integrating trucks, warehouses, managed transportation, and its own tech stack. Mariner's Sentinel Protocol stands out as a multi-source carrier and driver verification system, going beyond FMCSA ratings to continuously monitor due diligence throughout the shipment lifecycle. Turner's background is equally impressive: he led key roles at UPS-acquired Coyote Logistics, raised $400 million in venture capital at Flock Freight, and most recently served as chief commercial officer at Terawatt, an EV charging developer for Class 8 trucks. This move signals a potential shift toward technology-driven efficiency in the logistics sector.
