Micron Expands Partnership With General Motors: What It Means for MU Stock. Micron Technology has announced the expansion of its partnership with General Motors. The partnership involves Micron providing its memory and storage platforms to General Motors for use in vehicle production. General Motors aims to secure a supply of memory for future production without disrupting its processes. The agreement includes the supply of LPDRAM (Low-Power DRAM), NOR Flash, and UFS NAND memory components from Micron. Additionally, Micron's Manassas, Virginia fabrication plant will be modernized with a $2 billion investment, alleviating potential geopolitical issues. The partnership also includes system-level optimization of General Motors' future vehicle architectures and collaboration on the development of future products. Micron highlights the growing importance of the automotive market, with the AI-enabled car market expected to reach $14.2 billion by 2034. Currently, cars require around 90 GB of memory, but this is expected to triple this year. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra stated, "Our expanding manufacturing efforts in the United States are designed to enable GM to deliver both near-term products as well as secure U.S.-based supply to support next-generation platforms and innovation.",
