National Electric Trains Begin Service on Uzunköprü-Halkalı Line: 324-Passenger Capacity with Local Manufacturing

National Electric Train sets will begin operating on the Uzunköprü-Halkalı-Uzunköprü route as of July 22. Minister Uraloğlu noted that electric locomotives and 5-car trains have been in service on this route for approximately 20 years. Produced by TÜRASAŞ using domestic resources, these trains have a 324-passenger capacity and can reach speeds of 160 km/h. Since entering service in 2023, they have completed 11,551 trips, covered over 1.122 million kilometers, and transported 2.634 million passengers.
