724FinanceDr. Aslıhan Demir

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Çanakkale. Seismologist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür noted that the quake occurred along the Küçükkuyu Fault, describing it as a 'shallow and small tremor'. According to AFAD, the quake took place in the waters off Ayvacık district, with no reports of damage. Prof. Görür suggested the event could prompt a reassessment of seismic risks in the region. The incident will heighten monitoring of earthquake activity in Turkey.
Seismic risk remains a critical concern for areas near the Küçükkuyu Fault. Such events can amplify infrastructure risks that may impact macroeconomic stability.
