Major automotive manufacturers recorded a sharp profitability decline in the first half of 2026.
Drop in EBIT per Vehicle
According to data compiled by the Center of Automotive Management (CAM), the average EBIT per vehicle for 15 leading manufacturers fell from €1,409 in the same period last year to €1,187 this year.

Strategic Takeaways and Market Outlook
Investors should focus on three pivotal areas.
The automotive sector’s profitability dip cannot be explained solely by lower sales; the core issue lies in its ability to convert revenue into profit.
