As investors trimmed positions following short-term overbought territories, the observed contraction in trading volume underscored the cautious stance prevailing in the market structure.

Weakness Signals in Index Technicals

Viewed through the lens of technical analysis, the key dynamics shaping the intraday volatility of the index were centered around the following fundamental elements:

■Ichimoku Cloud: The index turned the spread between the Conversion Line (Tenkan-sen) and Base Line (Kijun-sen) negative, signaling a loss in short-term momentum.

■Moving Averages: The pressure experienced around the 50-day moving average in pricing demonstrates the cautious approach of buyers.

■Fibonacci Retracements: The pullback towards the 38.2% level of the last rally wave indicates that the technical correction band is being tested.

Algo-Trade Strategies and Liquidity

Market makers and algorithmic traders have begun to act more selectively in providing liquidity during periods of low volatility. In this process, capital outflows specifically in the banking and industrial indices stand out as primary factors fueling the downward pressure across the index.
