BIST 100 Decline: Tech and Services Sectors Bear the Brunt

The BIST 100 index closed at 14,229.01 points, down 105.05 points. The index reached a low of 14,151.94 and a high of 14,441.24 during the day, losing 0.73% compared to the previous close.

Tech Sector Drives Decline The technology index lost 2.08%, with ASELSAN and Astor Enerji showing significant declines.

Financial and Services Sectors Also Affected The financial index lost 0.48%, while the services index lost 0.26%. Türk Hava Yolları and Akbank also saw notable declines in trading volume.

High Yields in Treasury Market The 15 March 2028 maturity bond saw a simple yield of 36.51% and a compound yield of 39.84%.

Exchange Rates The effective exchange rate for the dollar was set at 48.1554 for buying and 48.3484 for selling. Globally, the euro/dollar rate was 1.1598, and the pound/dollar rate was 1.3536.

The decline in the BIST 100 index reflects a dominant performance from tech and services sectors. The high yields in the treasury market suggest a risk-averse sentiment in markets. This could be linked to global stability concerns and local economic uncertainties.
