Markets today displayed duality in exchange rates and bond yields. The BIST 100's decline may reflect synchronization gaps with global markets and central bank policies. The TCMB's rate decision could be seen as a protective move against dollar strength. However, the rise in bond yields suggests potential impacts on banking sector profitability. The slowdown in SME lending and growth in commercial credit may strain the banking sector's future earnings, making it crucial to monitor how macroeconomic policies will affect the industry.
