Lunda Strengthens Infrastructure Dominance with New Transportation Projects as National Building Museum Inspires Youth Through 'The Playground'
The National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., launched its summer initiative 'The Playground' to inspire young minds toward the construction industry. Featuring an interactive centerpiece called 'The Hill' crafted from birch plywood, the installation includes a 100-foot obstacle course, a 15-foot climbing wall, and a 'Dig Pit' filled with natural cork, aiming to foster creativity and connection. The program runs until August 30.
Tutor Perini's Wisconsin-based subsidiary Lunda Construction secured three significant infrastructure contracts. The Roberts Street Railroad Bridge Replacement over the Mississippi River will replace a 113-year-old structure with a 215-foot rolling bascule bridge, with completion targeted for December 2029. Additionally, the firm won a $33.4 million Minnesota DOT contract for Highway 77 work in Hennepin and Dakota counties, and was named the apparent low bidder on a $28.6 million Highway 243 project in Chisago County, reinforcing its infrastructure leadership.
These developments, alongside New York's moratorium on data center permits and Micron Technology's $100 billion semiconductor campus groundbreaking, signal sustained demand and strategic investments in the U.S. construction sector, particularly in technology-driven infrastructure.
