Emergency Expropriation Decisions in 11 Turkish Provinces: Why and How They Impact?

Four presidential decrees approved by the Turkish President have led to the emergency expropriation of 31 properties across 11 provinces for 13 energy transmission projects. In Karaman, Kırşehir, Konya, Nevşehir, Niğde, and Yozgat, TEDAŞ will expropriate electricity distribution facilities and safety zones as property or through permanent/transient easements. Key projects include Başkışla Kızılyaka TR ENH, Demirli Köyü Ceylanlar ENH, and Yeni Atlantı ENH. Additionally, EPDK will expropriate 18 properties in Antalya's Alanya district for the construction of RMS-A station and natural gas distribution facilities. In Erzurum's Aziziye district, three properties will be expropriated by the municipality for urban transformation. In Ardahan, Aksaray, and Erzincan, BOTAŞ will expropriate properties for four natural gas connection projects. These decisions aim to accelerate the implementation of major energy projects in Turkey.
