Critical Solana Network Halt: 29% Stake Collapse and Finality Risks
Solana blockchain ağının merkezi bir veri merkezinde oluşan yönlendirme hatası, ağına bağlı 29% stake'in çökmesine neden oldu. Marinade Finance, ağın

Solana's blockchain network experienced a critical disruption when a routing glitch at a major data center provider knocked 29% of its staked tokens offline. Marinade Finance reported that the network came within 20 million SOL of the finality threshold, with 90 validators losing 333 SOL in rewards. Despite $4.3 billion in assets locked in DeFi protocols on Solana, the incident exposed vulnerabilities in its decentralized security model. The issue originated from a bad internet route at Teraswitch's Miami facility, affecting validators in Europe and Asia. Major validators, including Helius, remained offline for 33 minutes due to failed backup systems. If more than one-third of the network's stake were to fail simultaneously, all SOL holders would face irreversible transaction risks. Solana's past outages have raised questions about its reliability compared to Ethereum.
This incident underscores the fragility of centralized infrastructure in decentralized networks. Solana must reassess its validator distribution and redundancy protocols.
