Turkey's Kırık and Dallıkavak tunnels project, connecting Erzurum and Rize, will reduce the existing 248 km distance to 196 km, cutting the route by 52 km. Upon completion, the project will significantly reduce travel time and costs between the two cities. Construction work is being closely monitored, with visits by Erzurum Governor Aydın Baruş. The entire road network is targeted to be completed by 2027.
