Central Bank Narrows Digital Lira Circle: 23 Projects Define Finance's Future
Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası (TCMB), finansal teknolojilerde yeni bir dönemin eşiğinde dijital Türk Lirası Projesi'nin kritik bir evresini tamaml

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has completed a critical phase of the Digital Turkish Lira Project, identifying key ecosystem players on the verge of a new era in financial technology. The announcement marking the end of application evaluation processes emphasized that only the most innovative projects from banking and payment institutions advanced to the third phase.
Elite 23 Projects in the Digital Lira Ecosystem
A strategic step has been taken in the digital transformation of the financial world. Following rigorous evaluations in the project's second phase, 23 projects belonging to 12 banks and 6 payment and electronic money institutions qualified for the finals. The filtering of the initial 85 project applications through a tight sieve demonstrates the Central Bank's goal of targeting not just compatible, but sustainable and secure infrastructures.
Pivot to Tokenization and Programmable Payments
The technological focal points of the projects advancing to the third phase map out the financial architecture of the future. While tokenization and programmable payments form the backbone of the projects, compatibility with existing systems also emerges as a critical priority.
The liquidity structure and payment infrastructure in the markets are reshaping with such strategic shifts. While not visible in our technical indicators, this move, which we can classify as a structural deformation, signals a serious component change in the finance and technology indices within the BIST 100 in the medium term. Our algo-trading models indicate that digital asset integration will reduce financial costs and increase the operational efficiency of companies, suggesting that this situation will strengthen fundamental analysis dynamics particularly in banking stocks.
