TİGEM's 220,000 Dam Breeding Project: A New Step in Rural Development

Turkey's Export and Development General Directorate (TİGEM) will facilitate the distribution of 220,000 dam animals to farmers through the 'Support for Large Livestock in Rural Areas' and 'Support for Small Livestock in Rural Areas' projects, which are part of its portfolio of 400,000+ animals held by its member firms. This initiative aims to increase Turkey's 10 million ton meat and dairy production capacity. Funded with a $1 billion budget, the project seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized farmers. TİGEM's move is seen as a critical step in boosting the competitiveness of local producers in the international market. The success of the project could significantly contribute to Turkey's food security and rural development goals. With a target of a 20% increase in agricultural exports, this initiative will support Turkey's stronger positioning in global markets.
