Turkey-Syria Trade Relations: $10 Billion Target and Nusaybin Customs Gate Opening

Turkey's Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced that bilateral trade between Turkey and Syria increased by more than 40 percent to $3.75 billion last year. Minister Bolat emphasized that both governments are working closely to reach the $10 billion target.

Syria's Reconstruction and Trade Opportunities Turkey is working to create a strategic trade and investment environment through projects like the Idlib Free Trade Zone and the Sarakib Dry Port Industrial Zone. These zones offer tax exemptions and customs advantages to Turkish companies looking to enter the Syrian market.

Nusaybin-Kamışlı Customs Gate and Future of Transit Trade Minister Bolat stated that efforts are being accelerated to open the Nusaybin-Kamışlı Customs Gate as soon as possible. He also noted that six border crossings between Turkey and Syria are operating at full capacity, and transit trade is developing towards Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries.
