Positive Developments in Export Market Climate Index Continue, While Global Demand Conditions Remain Weak
In a written statement from the Ministry of Trade, an assessment was made regarding the İSO Turkey Manufacturing Sector Export Climate Index. The index, which was 50.3 in May, increased for the second consecutive month in June, reaching 50.4. With the latest data, it was indicated that the trend of strengthening demand conditions in export markets has continued for 2.5 years. The statement noted that despite the weak global demand conditions in June, due to geopolitical uncertainties, the improvement in the export market climate continued, albeit limited. The Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was stated to have been 52.2 in June, and it was noted that: 'Thus, the index has remained above the 50 threshold for 11 consecutive months. In 27 of the 33 national economies for which PMI data is announced, the index was above 50 in June. Economic activity in Spain has been at its highest pace since the beginning of 2026. Non-oil activity in the United Arab Emirates continued to increase in June. Production increased in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Lebanon. The growth recorded in the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan was among the positive developments of the month.' These developments in the export market climate indicate the potential of Turkey's exports and the strength of its economy, despite the still weak global demand. However, it should not be forgotten that geopolitical uncertainties and weak global demand conditions may cause the improvement in the export market climate to continue in a limited manner.
