Binance bStocks Surpasses Kraken to Claim Second Spot in Tokenized Stock Market
Binance, piyasaya sürülmesinden sadece iki ay sonra tokenized hisse senedi piyasasında dengeleri alt üst ederek Kraken’in xStocks ürününü geride bırak

Binance has disrupted the tokenized stock market less than two months after launch, overtaking Kraken’s xStocks to become the second-largest issuer, signaling a new era in the tokenization of traditional financial assets on the blockchain. According to data from Token Terminal, this rapid ascent accompanies a broader surge in the market, highlighting the growing demand for on-chain equity exposure.
Battle for Supremacy in Tokenized Equities
As of August 3, Binance bStocks reached a value of approximately $624 million, narrowly edging out Kraken’s xStocks at $579 million. However, Ondo Finance maintains its dominance at the top with a valuation of around $927 million. By Tuesday, bStocks held onto the second position with $610.6 million, while xStocks followed closely at $601.2 million.
Explosive Growth in On-Chain Asset Value
The landscape for tokenized stocks has shifted dramatically over the past year. A year prior, xStocks led the sector with $40.7 million, followed by Robinhood at $37.2 million, while Ondo Finance held a mere $65,000. The total market value tracked by Token Terminal has since skyrocketed from roughly $80 million to about $2.7 billion, representing growth of over 30 times in a single year.
Changpeng Zhao, co-founder and former CEO of Binance, attributed the rapid growth of bStocks to the exchange's massive user base, while industry observers debate how this competition in the RWA (Real World Assets) sector will shape market depth going forward.
As a quantitative analyst, I must point out that these data points distract us not just with volume size, but with structural risks. Binance capturing this much market share so quickly with bStocks proves that the liquidity advantage of centralized exchanges remains unshaken. However, it must not be forgotten that these tokenized stocks are synthetic instruments providing exposure, not ownership of the underlying asset. Ondo Finance's lead and Binance's rise indicate that the market is evolving towards a more efficient digital brokerage model of traditional finance rather than a 'DeFi' claim. The critical takeaway is that the custody and counterparty risks behind these assets are becoming even more critical than price movements.
