Bitget sits as the 6th‑largest global crypto exchange on CoinMarketCap, with a daily trading volume of $389 million. The New Zealand licence could intensify competition locally, opening partnership avenues with fintech firms and traditional banks.
Strategic Positioning and European Roll‑out
In January the firm announced a European headquarters in Vienna, Austria, appointing former Bitpanda chief legal officer Oliver Stauber as CEO of Bitget EU to spearhead its MiCA (Markets in Crypto‑Assets) expansion.
