Borsa Istanbul concluded the trading day with the BIST 100 index gaining 0.70%, closing at 13,798.82 points. With a total trading volume reaching 187.2 billion lira, the market demonstrated sustained liquidity, while the 95.68 point increase signaled a modest recovery.

Sectoral Divergence: Financial Leasing Peaks as Textiles Slump

Despite the general upward trend, a sharp divergence was observed across sectoral performances, proving that investors are adopting a highly selective strategy:

■Financial Leasing & Factoring: Emerged as the top gainer with a 3.42% increase.

■Textile & Leather: Recorded the steepest decline, dropping by 2.59%.

■Holding Index: Remained in negative territory with a 1.44% loss.

■Banking Index: Declined by 0.63%, adding pressure to the overall index.

VIOP Dynamics: Long Positions Lead the Futures Market

The Derivatives Market (VIOP) mirrored the optimism seen in the spot market. BIST 30 futures contracts closed higher, indicating a bullish short-term sentiment among market participants:

■BIST 30 futures contract: Rose by 0.37% to settle at 15,921.00 points.

■Previous closing level: 15,862.00 points.

■Open interest: 471,374 contracts.

The index's approach to the 13,800 psychological threshold suggests that short-term Fibonacci retracement levels are being tested. However, the negative divergence in banking and holding indices indicates that the rally lacks a broad-based foundation.
