Quick Sigorta Debuts on Borsa Istanbul with 3.7 Billion Lira Historic IPO
Türkiye sermaye piyasalarında sigorta sektörü adına önemli bir dönüm noktası yaşanırken, Quick Sigorta **3,7 milyar liralık** halka arz büyüklüğüyle B
Marking a significant turning point for Turkey's capital markets in the insurance sector, Quick Sigorta commenced trading on Borsa Istanbul’s Star Market under the ticker symbol "QUICK", following a historic initial public offering (IPO) valued at approximately 3.7 billion lira. The company has opened a new liquidity door for both investors and the insurance ecosystem, executing the sector's first IPO in 12 years.
A 3.7 Billion Lira Capital Maneuver and Details
The IPO process shaped critical data directly impacting the company's financial statements and capital structure, with the book-building period taking place between July 29-31. Here are the key numerical figures regarding the shares now available for trading:
Ending the 12-Year Drought in Insurance
Becoming the 7th insurance company traded on the exchange, Quick Sigorta holds the distinction of being the first non-life insurance company to list in 19 years. This development carries strategic importance for contributing to the sector's financial depth. Maher Holding Insurance Group Chairman Ahmet Yaşar emphasized that the company has fortified its robust financial structure, boasting an asset size of 101.5 billion lira and an equity of 25.1 billion lira through the IPO.
Tech-Driven Growth and Trust
Speaking at the gong ceremony, Borsa Istanbul General Manager Korkmaz Ergun highlighted the company's technology-centric business model, while Quick Sigorta General Manager Eyüp Özsoy noted that approximately 600,000 new investors have become partners in the company, stating that their responsibility has increased. Özsoy announced that the funds raised will be used to provide better services to customers and develop technology-focused solutions.
Quick Sigorta's IPO establishes a critical liquidity benchmark for the Turkish insurance sector, which has seen increased interest from foreign investors recently. The 10.03% public float ratio may induce short-term price volatility in algorithmic trading (HFT) due to limited free float; however, the pricing at 76.60 lira appears as a strong support level given the intense demand during the subscription period. This new listing on the Star Market holds the potential to lower the sector's cost of capital.
