The e-gate system will first roll out at Zurich Airport, followed by Basel and Geneva. The agreement preserves free trade for medicines, cars, art, and jewelry while positioning Switzerland as the UK's key trade partner. CBI leader Rain Newton-Smith called it a 'real growth opportunity'. Additionally, 90-day visa-free travel and easier company personnel transfers are included. Switzerland remains the UK's top services trade partner, and this deal is likely Starmer's final major international agreement.
