China's Unitree unveiled its new 'Superman' high-speed robot ahead of its Shanghai stock market debut. Unitree, the world's largest bipedal humanoid robot manufacturer, has produced and delivered over 18,000 robots. The company raised $905 million (6.1 billion yuan) in an IPO that was 8,000 times oversubscribed. The robot can jump 2 meters high and reach speeds of 12.66 meters per second. Unitree's founder, Wang Xingxing, gained national prominence after attending a summit hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The company is backed by major Chinese tech firms including Tencent, Alibaba, and DeepSeek. Unitree's listing coincides with a 15% rebound in China's tech sector following a recent downturn. Derivatives markets expect a strong debut for the company. This development underscores China's leadership in robotics and the growing interest in technology investments. Unitree's new robot holds potential for industrial and commercial applications, with further improvements expected.
China's move signals the country's rising influence in global robotics, while Unitree's success highlights the nation's innovative entrepreneurial potential.
