Turkey's EV Charging Infrastructure Surges Past 45,000 Sockets

Turkey has experienced a striking expansion in its electric vehicle charging infrastructure; the June report shows a total of 45,097 charging sockets, surpassing the previous month’s 44,175.

Surge in Installed Power Capacity

■Total installed capacity rose to 3,545 MW in June, a 3.90 % increase from the prior month.

■Electricity consumption reached 72,530 MWh.

Share of Green Charging and Renewable Energy

■59.42 % of consumption (about 43.95 MWh) came from green charging stations certified with renewable energy guarantees.

■The remaining 29,436 MWh was supplied by other stations.

Regional Consumption Distribution

■Istanbul led with 20,902 MWh of consumption.

■Ankara followed with 9,884 MWh, and Izmir with 4,624 MWh.

Rapid Increase in Socket Count

■AC charging sockets climbed to 25,434.

■DC charging sockets increased to 19,663.

Growth in Electric Vehicle Numbers

■The number of EVs rose from 440,327 in May to 450,038 in June.
