eBay's $56 Million Revenge Operation: Company's Counterattack Against Journalists
eBay'in eski yöneticilerinin, e-ticaret haberleri yayımlayan Steiner çiftine canlı akrep, kanlı domuz maskesi ve cenaze çelenkleri içeren tehdit dolu
eBay's alleged campaign of intimidation against David and Ina Steiner, the founders of EcommerceBytes, has reached a $56 million settlement, marking a new turning point in media freedom battles. The Massachusetts couple, known for their critical reporting of eBay's competitors, claimed that the company's former executives orchestrated a 'terrorist' campaign to silence them. The settlement includes $46.15 million from eBay, $2 million from former CEO Devin Wenig, and $550,000 from two other former executives. Additionally, $7 million in charitable donations were made, including $1 million honoring Ina Steiner's support for First Amendment rights.
eBay's aggressive tactics raise concerns about media freedom and market trust. The rise of such cases could lead to increased calls for transparency in the e-commerce sector.
