Goldman Sachs Report: First Casualties of AI in the Labor Market Revealed
Goldman Sachs'ın son araştırması, yapay zekanın gelişmiş ekonomilerdeki iş gücü piyasaları üzerindeki baskısının artık teoriden pratiğe geçtiğini gözl

A new research report from Goldman Sachs reveals that the pressure of artificial intelligence on labor markets across major developed economies has transitioned from theoretical risk to measurable reality. Since the second half of 2022, industries with high exposure to automation have experienced a distinct slowdown in job openings, signaling a quiet but profound structural shift in global employment.
The White-Collar Reckoning: Sectors Bearing the Brunt of Automation
Wall Street investment giant Goldman Sachs highlights that employment in information and communication services—sectors highly exposed to AI integration—has decelerated across almost all major developed economies. The impact is highly concentrated in operational and cognitive task-heavy segments.
Shutting the Door on Entry-Level Talent
Analyzing over 800 occupations, the study underscores that AI-driven headwinds are disproportionately impacting early-career professionals. Rather than displacing senior executives, automation is effectively raising the barrier to entry for the next generation of workers.
In global supply chains and freight markets, efficiency is the ultimate currency. The displacement of white-collar labor by AI will initially trigger cost disinflation in services. However, as this automation wave integrates into port logistics and maritime operations, it will reduce human dependency on global trade corridors, boosting operational margins. From Suez Canal tanker congestion to transoceanic routing, AI-driven management systems will soon act as a key stabilizer for freight rates. If this labor squeeze dampens macroeconomic consumer demand, we may also witness a temporary cooling in global commodity appetite.
