Iran Warns Against Use of Cyprus Bases: Risks of US-UK Military Operations Rise
ABD ve İran arasındaki askeri gerilimin Doğu Akdeniz'e sıçramasıyla İran Dışişleri Bakanı Abbas Erakçi, Kıbrıs'ta bulunan İngiliz üslerinin stratejik

The escalating military tensions between the US and Iran have extended to the Eastern Mediterranean, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Erakchi warning against the use of British bases in Cyprus. Erakchi emphasized the strategic importance of facilities in Akrotiri and Dikelya, stating that they should not be used by the US or UK in operations targeting Iran. The same day, Erakchi spoke with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova, criticizing Bulgaria's parliamentary decision to allow US tanker aircraft to be stationed temporarily at Bezmer Air Base. Iran argued that this decision facilitates hostile activities against Iran, urging Sofia to reconsider. Tehran's warnings, which have previously advised countries using their territory or military bases in US operations against Iran, highlight the risks of further escalation. Iran's warnings about the use of British bases in Cyprus have become a key topic in international relations amid rising regional tensions.
