Electric Vehicle Sales Rise 7% in June

According to data from London-based data analysis firm Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, 2 million electric vehicles were sold worldwide in June. Sales increased by 7% year-over-year and 11% month-over-month. Global electric vehicle sales for the first half of the year reached 9.6 million, a 2% increase year-over-year.

Record Sales in Europe

In Europe, 530,000 electric vehicles were sold in June, representing a 28% month-over-month increase and a 31% year-over-year increase.

■Rising fuel prices in the Middle East after the war also positively affected sales.

China and North America

In China, the world's largest electric vehicle market, sales in June decreased by 11% year-over-year to 1 million. Sales for the first half of the year were 4.9 million, 14% below the same period last year.

■Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers' exports reached a new record of 500,000 in June.

■In North America, electric vehicle sales in June decreased by 13% year-over-year to 130,000.
