Work Ban in KKTC Due to Extreme Heat: How Employers and Employees Are Affected
KKTC Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı, 41-43 derecelik aşırı sıcaklıkların çalışan sağlığına olası risk oluşturabileceği gerekçesiyle, açık alanda

The Labor and Social Security Ministry of KKTC has banned work in the open during midday hours due to expected temperatures of 41-43 degrees, citing potential health risks to workers. Minister Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu stated that the decision was made to minimize the risks posed by the extreme heat conditions, which are more pronounced during the summer months. The Meteorological Department forecasts temperatures to reach 41-43 degrees in the interior and 33-35 degrees along the coasts. This will require employers to adjust their work schedules and implement health precautions for employees. The forecast also predicts strong winds, which could further exacerbate working conditions. The impact of this decision on the business landscape in KKTC and the measures employers can take in response will need to be closely monitored.
