Speaking at the 15th Ordinary Congress of the MHP Selçuklu District Presidency, Konya MP Mustafa Kalaycı emphasized that while global conflicts and geopolitical tensions negatively impact economic activities, Turkey's strong manufacturing capacity ensures resilience. Kalaycı noted a 3.4% increase in Konya's exports in the first half of the year and praised new credit packages for the manufacturing sector.
Kalaycı called for simplifying bank credit allocation processes, easing collateral requirements, and extending foreign exchange support for exporters. He proposed reducing tax burdens on small businesses, lowering BAĞ-KUR premium days to 7,200, and capping credit card commission rates. Additionally, he suggested implementing a minimum income support program for low-income families. The congress concluded with a reaffirmation of the Alliance's commitment to addressing economic and social challenges, honoring national figures.
Zeynep Kaya: "Kalaycı's emphasis on production-driven policies underscores their critical role in economic stability. New credit packages and tax exemptions could boost consumer spending power in industrial hubs like Konya, accelerating liquidity cycles. However, currency volatility and external dependencies may undermine sustainability if not addressed decisively. Support for artisans and pensioners, despite inflationary pressures, could enhance consumer confidence effectively."
