CHP and DEM Party Congress Crises: New Phase of Political Warfare in Turkey
Türkiye siyasetinde olağanüstü bir dönüşüm sürecinde olan CHP ve DEM Parti'nin kongre krizleri, siyasi gücü yeniden şekillendirmek için mücadele eden

Turkey's political landscape is being reshaped by unprecedented congressional crises within the CHP and DEM Party, as different factions and leaders clash to redefine political power. The CHP's decision by General Secretary Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to delay the congressional process has split the party, with the '3. Yol Group' of 15 MPs pressuring him to proceed, raising risks of a new crisis in September. Meanwhile, the DEM Party is gearing up for its regular congress on 6 September to finalize the 'Terörsüz Türkiye' process, with the key changes expected to come from an extraordinary congress. On the other side, Özgür Özel's Yeni Parti is rapidly organizing, with its launch campaign attracting far more support than expected, and the party's congressional calendar starting on 22 August, with local and provincial congresses scheduled for September and October. These developments signal a new phase in Turkey's opposition parties' restructuring efforts.
The congressional crises in Turkey's politics mark a critical period where leaders and factions are competing to redefine power, potentially destabilizing political stability.
