NATO Summit Boosts Ankara's Tourism Economy by $125 Million

Ankara hosted the 36th NATO Summit from July 7-8, contributing 800-900 million Turkish liras to the capital's tourism economy. Ankara's Culture and Tourism Director, Erhan Karakaya, emphasized the city's infrastructure handled the event smoothly, with 23 hotels accommodating over 5,500 guests. The summit activated all sectors, from luxury hotels to local businesses. Karakaya highlighted that such events enhance international visibility and stimulate tourism investments. He also noted that Ankara's title as the Turkish Tourism Capital was reinforced by the upcoming 13th Turkish States Organization Summit.
The economic surge from this summit underscores Ankara's readiness for global events while sending a positive signal to the tourism sector's future.
