BIST 100 Closes at 14.110.14 with 2.96% Gain: Tech and Banking Sectors Lead

Borsa İstanbul closed the day (August 12, 2026 Wednesday) at 14.110.14 points with a 2.96% increase, as technology and banking sectors led the gains. Stocks like ASELS, THYAO, and AKBNK set volume records. USD/TRY rose 0.10% to 47.76 TL, while EUR/TRY gained 0.07% to 55.14 TL. Gold markets saw spot gold rise 1.18% to $4,422, while gram gold reached 6.797.64 TL with a 1.39% increase. In crypto markets, Bitcoin traded at $63,420 and Ethereum at $1,891.03.

The strong performance of tech and banking sectors indicates continued macroeconomic stability, while food and sports sectors experienced declines. The tightening of KOBİ lending, slower growth in commercial credit, and the impact of macroprudential measures on the banking sector suggest that banks need to operate cautiously.
