Saat ve Saat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (SSAAT) has taken a critical step towards the Asian market in its global growth move, signing a prestigious distribution agreement targeting a cash flow contribution of 6.7 million Swiss francs (CHF) to the company's balance sheet over a five-year period.
Jacques Philippe Brand Expands into the Indian Subcontinent
According to the company's statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), a five-year exclusive distribution agreement was signed with retail giant Just In Time Trading Pvt. Ltd., which operates 105 stores across India, to increase the visibility of its luxury watch brand Jacques Philippe in the Indian market. This agreement is positioned as part of a comprehensive strategy that targets not only product sales but also the regional consolidation of SSAAT's international brand value.Cash Flow Security and Guaranteed Turnover
The financial structure of the agreement contains remarkable details regarding risk management, especially for SMEs engaged in exports. While the agreement is based on phased minimum purchase commitments that will relax the company's production planning, financial instruments that minimize country risk have been preferred in the payment terms. For a Turkish SME of this scale, this agreement represents a crucial benchmark in financial discipline. The preference for "confirmed letters of credit" (L/C) minimizes operational risks while securing cash flow stability in international trade. The phased purchase commitment provides predictability for production planning and inventory management. While the 6.7 million CHF figure may not seem massive in isolation, it serves as significant strategic leverage for permanently establishing brand awareness and export channels in a high-potential, rapidly growing market like India.
