Saudi PIF Governor Aims to Make Kingdom a Global Investment Hub
Saudi Arabistan'ın en üst düzey mali yöneticisi Yasir Al-Rumayyan, ülkesinin küresel ekonomik merkez haline gelme hedefini açıkça ifade etti. $1 trily

Saudi Arabia’s top financial executive Yasir Al-Rumayyan has clearly outlined the kingdom’s ambition to become a global economic hub. Managing the $1 trillion Public Investment Fund (PIF), Al-Rumayyan announced at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) summit in Rome that Saudi Arabia’s new strategy is to 'bring the world back to Saudi.' The PIF, a key driver of Vision 2030, is shifting focus to domestic investments, allocating 80% of its capital domestically while reducing foreign allocations to 20% and deprioritizing costly giga-projects. However, the Iran war and declining oil revenues are straining this strategy. Major cuts have been made to projects like Neom, while preparations for Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup continue under significant budgets. Al-Rumayyan called for Aramco to expand its international oil storage facilities and emphasized 'energy realism.' Yet, the temporary nature of the U.S.-Iran peace deal and regional tensions could hinder Saudi Arabia’s global investment appeal.
Saudi Arabia’s Strategic Pivot ## 80% of investments now domestic-focused ## Radical cuts to Neom and other giga-projects ## Aramco’s call to expand international oil storage capacity ## U.S.-Iran deal’s temporary nature and Middle East tensions ### Investment Shifts ### 80% domestic investment allocation ### 20% reduction in foreign investments ### Deprioritization of costly giga-projects ### Aramco’s push for international oil storage expansion ### Expo 2030 and FIFA World Cup preparations ### Iran war’s economic impact ### U.S.-Iran deal’s temporary nature ### Middle East geopolitical tensions > Saudi Arabia’s push to attract global investments is being tested by the Iran war’s economic fallout and falling oil revenues. The shift to domestic-focused investments could deter international investors, while Aramco’s call for expanded oil storage reflects the kingdom’s efforts to secure energy stability. However, the temporary U.S.-Iran deal and regional tensions may limit Saudi Arabia’s ability to attract foreign capital.
