Skyrocketing Beef Prices Force U.S. Consumers to Their Spending Limit Amid Global Supply Chain Tensions
ABD'de et satış hacimleri, Memorial Day ve Temmuz Dördüncü arasında önemli bir dönem olan 13 haftalık süre zarfında geçen yılın aynı dönemine göre yüz

U.S. beef sales volumes fell 0.3% in the 13 weeks ending mid-July, a critical period encompassing Memorial Day and July Fourth, compared to the same period last year. This marks a significant shift as rising beef prices are pushing American consumers to their spending limits. The underlying causes include disruptions in the global supply chain, increased costs in the livestock sector, and supply shocks in food commodity markets. Leading beef producers such as Cargill, JBS, and Tyson Foods are facing margin pressures due to rising material costs. This situation raises concerns about further volatility in global beef markets. Kaptan Rıza Deniz highlights that the tension stems from reduced beef exports from key production hubs in Africa and Asia. Additionally, the high levels of the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) are exacerbating shipping costs, further impacting beef prices. The trend suggests continued global inflation pressures and potential shifts in consumer food spending habits.
