Turkey's Digital Human Capital Triples in Four Years
Türkiye'nin iş gücü piyasasının dijital dönüşümünde kaçınılmaz bir kırılma yaşanıyor; TÜİK verileri, nüfusun dörtte birinin artık sanal ortamda yetene
Türkiye is undergoing an unavoidable inflection point in the digital transformation of its labor market, with TÜİK data revealing that a quarter of the population is now upskilling virtually, while internet usage hits a record 92.3%.
The Digitization of Human Capital
The proliferation of technological infrastructure and the permanence of post-pandemic habits have shifted learning processes from physical classrooms to digital platforms, altering the potential for economic efficiency. The rise in internet usage by 1.4 points to 92.3% signals that the economy has crossed a critical threshold in terms of digital accessibility.
The E-Learning Surge and Gender Balance
The most striking data shaping market dynamics is the accelerated rate of digital education uptake among women. Women's usage of online learning materials stands at 17.3%, surpassing men's 16.1%, while in general online education activities, women compete at 23.5% against men's 22.4%.
These data indicate a structural improvement in indices of "soft skills" and "digital literacy" that will determine Türkiye's future competitiveness. Before looking at employment data like NFP, we must track this human capital metric as a leading indicator of potential productivity gains.
