Turkey's exports to Africa increased by 12% in the January-June period compared to the same period last year, reaching $11 billion. This increase was driven by Fas and Egypt, with Fas becoming Turkey's largest export market in Africa and Egyptian exports increasing by 19.1% to $1.9 billion. Osman Aksoy, Coordinator of the Turkey-Africa Business Councils of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), stated that this success was due to the strong diplomatic foundation built over the past 20 years and the dynamism of the private sector in the field. Aksoy emphasized that Turkey's approach to Africa is based on mutual benefit and cooperation, rather than domination or exploitation, and that Turkey is seen as a reliable partner and long-term ally in the region.
