BIST 100 Technical Rally: Critical Levels Near the 15,000 Threshold

Borsa Istanbul’s benchmark BIST 100 index rebounded strongly amid a quiet economic calendar, erasing previous losses to close at 14,459 points with a solid 331-point gain. This closing mark represents the highest level recorded since July 7, reviving short-term market optimism as reaction buying dominated the session.

Technical Pivot and Resistance Map Near the 15,000 Threshold

Should the upward momentum persist, the primary short-term target for the BIST 100 will be the psychologically and technically significant 15,000 level. As the index navigates its path in TRY terms, key pivot, resistance, and support levels shape up as follows:

■The 14,340 level serves as the primary pivot point for short-term movements.

■On the upside, 14,605, 14,755, and 15,020 stand out as key resistance zones.

■In case of profit-taking, the levels of 14,190, 13,925, and 13,775 remain critical support lines.

Global Arbitrage and Critical USD-Based Levels

From a foreign investor perspective, USD-denominated charts—which reflect the true valuation of the index—show notable activity. These levels, highly monitored by global funds for asset allocation, indicate that BIST 100 maintains its discount compared to global peers:

■In USD terms, resistance levels are clustered at 305.4, 308.4, and 314.0.

■On the downside, 296.7, 291.1, and 288.0 act as protective support zones.

While the technical rebound driving the index to 14,459 is exciting for short-term traders, long-term value investors must keep their focus on macroeconomic fundamentals. During such index rallies, the defensive strength of companies with robust cash flows, consistent dividend yields, and active share buyback programs becomes highly evident. Beyond short-term technical indicators, maintaining allocations in high return-on-equity (ROE) and dividend champion companies remains the safest strategy to enhance portfolio resilience.
