TotalEnergies' War-Driven Surge: LNG's Future and EU's New Policies
TotalEnergies (TTE), İran Savaşı'nın yarattığı fiyat patlamasıyla 2. çeyrekte 67% artışla 6 milyar dolar kar elde etti. Refining ve chemicals gelirler
TotalEnergies (TTE) reported a 67% year-over-year increase in adjusted net income to $6 billion in Q2, driven by the Iran war. Refining and chemicals revenue surged 362% to $1.8 billion, while exploration and production earnings rose 64% to $3.2 billion. However, the LNG segment saw a 22% decline due to weak European demand. CEO Patrick Pouyanné warned that closures at the Hormuz Strait could become routine. On July 28, TTE and Eni finalized investment in the Cronos gas field off Cyprus, which will supply 2.8 million tons of LNG to Europe starting in 2028. Additionally, the EU reversed its ban on Russian LNG transfers after 2026, allowing TTE to continue supplying Asia from its 20% stake in Yamal LNG, provided volumes remain within 2025 levels. Analysts remain divided, but the moves suggest TTE is positioning itself for long-term LNG dominance. However, the timing of Cronos' production and Yamal's compliance with EU restrictions will be critical to future profitability.
